Shim Cheong (효녀심청 - Honyeo Shim Cheong) is a 1972 film directed by Shin Sang-ok.[1]


The traditional Shim Cheong story: Shim Cheong sells herself to a Chinese merchant for 300 bags of rice in order to give food to her blind father. She escapes the merchant by jumping into the sea. The king of the sea makes her his queen and restores her father's sight.[1]
