Rice (쌀 - Ssal) is a 1963 film directed by Shin Sang-ok.[1]

Synopsis[]

The peasants of Gucheon-dong, Muju City, Cheonbuk Province have too little to eat and cannot even cultivate rice due to a lack of water. One of the farmers is determined to build a water tunnel from the Geum River through the mountain to their home. Despite his determination his efforts fail until he is given help by the new government put into place with the revolution of May 16, 1961.[1]
